Lavochkin La-71D Kosmo Attack Craft by Artraccoon Lavochkin La-71D Kosmo Attack Craft by Artraccoon
Milieu: Stellar Horizons RPG

A Russian Cosmo forces late model La-71 Attack craft patrols a colony world orbital zone. Armed with high energy weapons and missiles, most note worthy two large "anti-ship" missiles, the craft is ready to battle all intruders.

Design notes: This was done to the writer's original notes and plans. I had drawn an early version over ten years ago, and this "late model" version is based on that original( and much more crude) artpiece. I pulled out my trusty Russian/Soviet aircraft reference books for detail and color ideas.

I like this one a lot. it looks like something you would love to fly, and hate to see on an attack vector.

Looks very Macross-y. I'd love to watch an anime featuring this craft.

You did an especially good job on the lines, I think - despite being an obvious science fiction craft I can *see* the visual continuity with Russian aircraft design all over that. Most stuff that's drawn as one country or another's spacecraft further down the line don't have that same connection.

It's me or it really reminds me of one of fighters from 3000ad's Battlecruiser Millenium?

I love this ship; it kinda reminds me of some of the fighter designs from my “Renegade Legion” RPG days. ;)

That's kinda the problem with "twin-boom" spaceships, they look alot alike...Renegade Legion, Wing Commander, etc... I tried to "Russianize" the design in order to get away from those craft.

It’s not just the twin boom design, it’s that gun turret on top as well, now the tail fins aren’t very “Renegade Legion”, at least not pointing up like that, if they were underneath the fuselage pointing down it’d be another matter entirely. I love it either way!

Keep up the good work! :worship:

I've no idea Lavochkin could ever survive several hundred years of evolution when most of today's major cooperations would have collapsed by then...

The Stellar Horizons setting is within a hundred years...not that far off. In the storyline Humanity gets a boost from FTL tech obtained from aliens.
